Harry Potter is one of the most eagerly awaited TV series announced. Fans will have to wait a little longer for it, but we are slowly learning more and more about this production, which is now in full swing. The crew and cast are moving forward, and we are receiving more news from the set, which will certainly increase over time.
It is far too early to set a specific release date, as the cast only entered the set in July 2025, where they will spend many more months before they manage to shoot the entire first season. Therefore, the creators could only reveal that the Harry Potter TV series will be released on HBO and HBO Max in 2027.
It is also too early for a full-fledged trailer showing scenes from the TV series, but that doesn’t mean we have received nothing. Along with the announcement of the Harry Potter TV series from HBO Max, a teaser was released with a view of the castle and the logo, although it isn’t known whether these versions will be the final ones.

Francesca Gardiner is the showrunner and executive producer of the Harry Potter TV series, while Mark Mylod is the director of multiple episodes and executive producer. The TV series is executive produced by J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Bronte Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
The following people will also be working on the production: Adriano Goldman (Director of Photography), Cate Hall (Hair and Makeup Designer), Paul Herbert (Stunt Coordinator), Mark Holt (SFX Supervisor), Mara LePere-Schloop (Production Designer), Naomi Moore (Set Decorator), John Nolan (Creature Effects Design Supervisor), Alexis Wajsbrot (VFX Supervisor), Dom Sidoli (VFX Producer), and Holly Waddington (Costume Designer).
The crew and cast of the Harry Potter TV series, as in the case of the filmmakers, have settled at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Leavesden, Watford, Hertfordshire, in the East of England. This is where most of the sets that we will see in the TV show are being built, such as the interiors of Hogwarts, platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross Station, and Privet Drive. In addition, the cast has been spotted on the streets of London, among other places, and it is said that work has also been done at John F Kennedy Catholic School in Hemel Hempstead. As time goes on, we will surely learn about more filming locations.
Harry Potter TV series is set to tell the entire story of the young wizard, with each novel in the series receiving its own season, which would mean that the upcoming production would have as many as seven parts.
