PS5 Presentation Already has More Views Than Xbox Series X's

The impressions after PlayStation 5 specification show were mixed, but it still aroused more interest in YouTube than the equivalent material on Xbox Series X.

The "reveal" of PlayStation 5 has generated a lot of interest.

In the last few days we have learned the technical specs of the next-gen consoles. First, on Monday, Microsoft revealed what we can expect from Xbox Series X in this regard, and on Wednesday, Sony did the same with PlayStation 5. So it's worth checking out which platform is currently generating more interest. Judging by YouTube stats, PS5 won the battle.

The presentation of PlayStation 5 has already been shown on YT over 12 million times. By comparison, the announcement of Xbox Series X from December 12 to now has only had 10.5 million views. Of course, a direct comparison of these figures is not entirely reliable as people now spend more time at home and are more likely to watch content online than in the last month of 2019 because of the coronavirus.

It is worth noting, that the presentation of short data loading times on Xbox Series X, published at the beginning of the week, has 2.3 million views, and YouTube material of Austin Evans with an early model of the device was viewed by 5 million people.

The situation looks different on Twitter. An entry on the official Xbox account related to the specs of Xbox Series X has 29.4 thousand likes and has been shared further 6.3 thousand times. The same message about PlayStation 5 has 18.7k likes and 4.2k retweets.

These figures don't really tell us anything that we couldn't have guessed for ourselves. PlayStation 4 has unquestionably won the current gen of consoles, so no one should be surprised that its successor raises more interes than the competition platform. On the other hand, the disclosure of spec sheet of PS5 did not go well in marketing terms and many players ridiculed Sony's tech lingo-riddled presentation.
