A hidden reference to the cult Quake series has been found in game footage from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. It may suggest that Quake 6 is in production.

One of the most memorable moments at yesterday's Xbox Developer_Direct show was certainly the one when Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was presented. However, while most viewers were closely examining the main character's model to see whether it resembles Harrison Ford, there was a hard-to-overlook hidden reference in the material.

An X user, Idle Sloth, caused a slight commotion among gamers by publishing a frame from the footage demonstrated by MachineGames studio, in which the developers discussed the archaeologist's upcoming adventures. In the frame, you can see a characteristic logo with the letters above forming "uake 6" - we think the full word is "Quake 6"

The blurry "scribbles" were enough to cause a stir among the fans of this cult brand. However, this is not surprising - the last numbered installment of the Quake series premiered 19 years ago - it was Quake 4 from 2005.

So why was this easter egg, which was undoubtedly shown deliberately, marked with the number 6? We don't have a specific answer to this question.Nevertheless, the game Quake Champions from 2022 can be unofficially described as "five" (some of the X users also noticed this).

Have you seen this fragment of the yesterday video? If not - wait for 11:36 of the video below.

It is worth adding that although the MachineGames studio is known mainly for the Wolfenstein series, it took part to some extent in the production of the recent remasters of Quake and Quake 2 . The releases included new levels for both installments, prepared by Swedish developers.

Interestingly, however, until now it may have seemed that before the new game in the Quake series, we would see the announcement and premiere of the next Doom. This was indicated, among other things, by a move by Bethesda - the company that manages both brands - which registered the "IDKFA" trademark on January 9 (via Klobrille). This abbreviation is known as a popular cheat from the Doom series.
