Next week, the online event called QuakeCon at Home will take place to replace the fans of this year's physical edition, canceled due to coronavirus. It turns out that during the event we will be able to get full versions of Quake and Quake II for free.

The event will take place on August 7-9 and we will watch the streams on Twitch. Those who will follow the broadcasts while logged in to their Bethesda.net account will receive the first installment of Quake for free. During the event there will also be a charity collection and if it exceeds 10 thousand dollars the full version of Quake II will be made available for free. This amount is not high, so it is virtually certain that this goal will be achieved. You can find the presentation'sschedule on Bethesda's official website.

Both games are not young, but especially the first installment is still very popular. It will be worth getting it not only because of nostalgia but also because there are still some interesting mods coming out. Of those released in recent years, especially noteworthy is the Arcane Dimensions project, which offers an excellent single-player campaign, enriched with many new mechanics, including elements of the Metroidvania genre.
