Radeon RX 6600 XT Announced - RTX 3060 Slayer Inbound?
„Amazing gaming at 1080p resolution.” Such a slogan is advertising the AMD's new GPU model, the Radeon RX 6600XT. It is supposed to be the answer to the RTX 3060 from Nvidia.
- The Radeon RX 6600 XT is AMD's new mid-range chip that offers good 1080p performance;
- AMD claims that the RX 6600 XT will be 15% faster on average than the RTX 3060, its main rival.
AMD has unveiled a new mid-range GPU - Radeon RX 6600 XT. The model is assumed to provide sufficient performance for gaming at 1080p. Based on the RDNA2 architecture, the device is expected to be the main rival to the RTX 3060 from Nvidia, surpassing it in terms of performance in most games.
RX 6600 X's marketing is positioned for gaming in 1080p, because according to statistics, this is the default resolution of the majority of monitors bought by gamers in 2020 (source - video footage below). This is what it looks like on paper - you can see that the RX 6600XT is comparable with the RTX 3060. In some aspects, Nvidia's card seems to be better, while in others not. The RX 6600 XT will appear in stores starting August 11 in the form of custom designs from various manufacturers. Reference models will not be available (source). Unfortunately, the GPU will be more expensive than RTX 3060, and the price is expected to be between the proposal of Nvidia and RX 6700 XT. Of course, we are talking about suggested prices.
