We won't play Red Dead Redemption 2 this fall, after all. The game has been delayed to spring 2018. At least there are a couple of new screenshots to keep the hype up.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will arrive several months later than expected.

Despite what the reveal trailer of Red Dead Redemption 2 has been saying, the next installment in the “Wild West GTA” franchise is not coming out this fall. On the studio’s official website Rockstar Games has announced that the game’s release date has been pushed to spring 2018. Of course, this refers to console versions (Xbox One and PlayStation 4), as there is still absolutely no information about any chances of the game launching on PC.

The reasons for the delay are pretty simple – the team at Rockstar are going to need a bit more time “to ensure that [they] can deliver the best experience possible for [their] fans” and will deliver the game “only when it is ready”.

Rockstar has also promised to reveal more details about Red Dead Redemption 2 this summer. For now we have to make do with a couple of new screenshots, as seen below:
