Advanced Access of Rematch is online. However, it is not without some issues. Lack of crossplay at launch seems to be the biggest one.
While the full release of Rematch will be on June 19, 2025, some players enjoy it already thanks to popular nowadays Advanced Access. At this point more than 20 000 players are in the game (via SteamDB). However, the good start is spoiled by a sudden and sad news – there will be no crossplay at launch. If you hope to play with friends who use different platforms, you should wait.
It was a surprise for many, as Rematch developers at the last minute announced lack of crossplay at launch. The sad news was revealed on the official account on X. We will have to wait for common lobbies shared by Steam, PlayStation and Xbox users. At this point it is unknown when exactly the feature will be added. Let’s hope that it will be soon. The post states that it will be one of the top priorities of the upcoming updates. However, during beta tests this feature was also not implemented. It can be a sign of some serious issues.
Of course, after hearing this, players are divided. While many understand this decision, some fans feel “betrayed” to the point that they have cancelled their preorders. We can’t blame them, as revealing such important information minutes before the Advanced Access launch is definitely not a good PR and does not add to Sloclap credibility.
Rematch is definitely a game which can shake up the soccer / football game market. With over 100 000 people taking part in beta, it is clear that the players are ready for something more.
