Released last Friday, Alan Wake 2 turned out to be an excellent third-person survival horror game. The game by studio Remedy Entertainment received very high ratings from industry reviewers, becoming not only one of the most important premieres of October, but also of the entire 2023.

One of the strengths of this production is the story, which was created with a huge contribution from Sam Lake, who was involved in both the script and the direction. The developer already has in his portfolio such works as Max Payne, Alan Wake, Quantum Break or Control. However, he has no shortage of fresh ideas.

One of them was revealed to Sam White, editor at GQ Magazine. Asked if he would like to create a game completely different from the previous ones - for they are relatively similar to each other - the Sam Lake said:

"So back to your question. Would I ever do anything else [a game different from those mentioned earlier in the interview- ed. note]? Yeah. I'm still thinking that I wil. One [of the stories he's always wanted to tell - ed. note] was this crazy, huge budget, dark gothic fantasy, which I haven’t used for anything yet."

Undoubtedly, it would be a big departure for both Lake and fans of Remedy Entertainment games. Since the creator has mentioned the idea, perhaps he already knows a little more than he can say.

Would Sam Lake appear in this dark game, just ashe did in Alan Wake 2 (and more)? Maybe someday we'll find out.

Alan Wake 2 is available on PC (for now only on Epic Games Store), PS5 and XSX/S. Remedy Entertainment announced that the title will receive updates with free content - one of which is expected to bring New Game Plus mode - as well as two paid DLCs.
