San Diego Comic-Con 2021 Goes Online

The physical edition of this year's San Diego Comic-Con has been canceled. The popular event will once again move online.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • San Diego Comic-Con 2021 will only take place online;
  • The event will run from July 23 to 25;
  • The organizers are planning an additional physical edition in November.

Comic-book and movie fans who were already planning to go to San Diego Comic-Con 2021 have to revise their plans. The popular event will be held exclusively online for the second time in a row. This decision is dictated by the ongoing pandemic, which does not allow for organization of large events such as Comic-Con. The organizers assume that this situation will not change in the next four months. However, they assure that the event's schedule will still be full of attractions related to the world of comics and movies. The online event will last from July 23rd to 25th.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that November may be the month in which an additional Comic-Con event will take place. The later date would allow for a physical event with fan participation. It would last for three days, but any details regarding ticket prices, guest speakers or specific panels are still in the planning stages. The organizers have indicated that they are still working on this additional event and will release further details as they become available.

The topic of purchased tickets was also discussed. Those who have tickets were given the opportunity to return them and thus get their money back. Another possibility is to transfer the validity of their tickets to 2022. The organizers are also working on the possibility to use them during the event planned for November. Information regarding the above can be found on San Diego Comic-Con's website.
