Many players are blocked by the Wait for Xiaoyu’s message info and can’t complete Shadows of the Past quest. In this guide we will tell you how to deal with this problem.
Quests in Wuthering Waves can be troublesome. In most cases issues are not rooted in high difficulty itself or hard bosses, they are problematic because of some unclear mechanics. In a large part, this is also the case for Shadows of the Past. This quest features an enigmatic “Wait for Xiaoyu’s Message” obstacle and it confuses many players.
At some point of your exploration you will receive Shadows of the Past quest. However, you will be blocked from completing it by Wait for Xiaoyu’s message. So, how to progress the quest? To put it simply - details are unknown.
The players are puzzled by this, as there are different theories. Some fans state that you should wait for 24 hours in real life. However, there are people who report that they have unlocked the next stage earlier, on the other hand, others say that they have waited more. While at the same time, some fans state that it is enough to forward 2 days in-game, of course it does not work for everyone, too.
So, what is the real solution? It is likely that you have to wait for some time – either in-game or in real life (maybe both) from receiving the message. However, most likely, there are some hidden requirements involved. There is a chance that you have to do a different quest to trigger counter – some fans suggest A Free Meal, others mention main story quests. It cannot be crossed out that a proper level is required, too. Of course, the game may be bugged.
So, what should you do? Don’t worry and play. At some point Shadows of the Past will unlock itself.
