Silica - Multiplayer and Coop Explained

In this guide you will find out if there are multiplayer and co-op modes in Silica. We have also presented some other useful information.

Silica is a popular game combining shooter and RTS elements, which features pleasing sci-fi style visuals. The game is currently on Steam in early access. In this guide you will learn the most important things about the multiplayer and co-op modes in Silica.

Multiplayer in Silica

The game can be played solo, but it also has a multiplayer mode.. A maximum of 12 people can play on the server, but in arena mode the number can be increased to 32. However, it should be borne in mind that for the time being the games are hosted by players. So this means that technical limitations may also limit the number of players. It's also worth mentioning that a sizable portion of the community is setting up closed servers because they want to learn the basic mechanics, as Silica does not have a typical tutorial.

Co-op in Silica

In the game you can play with friends in co-op, for example in PVE mode, that is, several people versus AI, but unfortunately, due to Silica being in early access, it's not a particularly engaging way to play. All because the artificial intelligence usually sends several units towards the players, which can be very easily defeated.

Another interesting way of playing is 1vs1., where two players fight each other while controlling other units. Co-op also works in prospector mode, which is a kind of cooperative campaign for four players, but at the moment it is not yet completed.

In Silica you can therefore play solo, as well as in multiplayer and co-op modes. However, be aware that the game is still in early access, so access to the servers may be limited, and some elements are still incomplete.
