SiN - 3D Realms Announces Remake of Iconic Shooter

3D Realms company announced that a remake of SiN, an FPS from 1998 developed by Ritual Entertainment. Nightdive team is working on the new version.

SiN was released on November 9, 1998 and promptly overshadowed by Half-Life, released ten days later.

A few days ago, SiN: Gold lauched on Steam, a re-edition of FPS from 1998, which offered a number of improvements to adapt the game to modern PCs, including support for high-resolution widescreen monitors. It turns out that this release is not the only attraction for fans of the franchise. A remake is also planned.

The information was shared on Twitter by Frederik Schreiber, vice president of 3D Realms. He revealed that Nightdive is working on the remake of SiN . The team is assisted by Slipgate Ironworks (known for, e.g. Kingpin: Reloaded and Ghostrunner).

Unfortunately, for now, we do not know when the refreshed version of the game will launch or how big the changes will be compared to the original version. It is worth noting, that SiN: Gold already offers practically everything what a good remaster should offer, and the project is available for free to the owners of the previous digital edition. So the remake will have to look much more impressive to convince people to part with their money.
