Skyblivion creators received a surprise gift on Oblivion Remastered's launch day. „This means so much to us”
The developers of the Skyblivion mod received free keys for Oblivion Remastered. Bethesda also said that it doesn't intend to cancel the fan project.

Right now, a lot of gamers are buzzing about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The refreshed RPG was released yesterday afternoon, attracting many people. At the time of writing this news, almost 100,000 players are having fun in the game. It's possible that among them are also the creators of the Skyblivion mod.
The developers of the mod shared on X that Bethesda gave the whole team game keys for Oblivion Remastered to celebrate its release. They also thanked the studio for their support for their project.
Huge thanks to our friends Bethesda for their continued support of Skyblivion!
As massive fans, we're beyond grateful for the generous gift of Oblivion Remastered game keys for our entire modding team! This means so much to us. Thank you for everything, Bethesda.
This is definitely a nice gesture, and it's great to see some studios supporting their modding communities and their projects instead of shutting them down (we're looking at you, Rockstar). It must be admitted that Bethesda had a pretty solid argument to cancel Skyblivion, but the studio clearly stated that it doesn't intend to do so, which was confirmed by the mod creators.
To clear up any confusion Bethesda made it clear that they have no intention of shutting down our project.
Although it might seem that Oblivion Remastered would be an obstacle for Skyblivion, it's worth remembering that the modders don't think so at all. This is a project created out of passion, not a desire for profit, and as they themselves stated, "the real winners are the players," who will be able to visit the beautified Cyrodiil in two different ways.
The Skyblivion release is planned for 2025, although due to the large size of the mod, potential delays cannot be ruled out.
