Squad is moving onto Steam this month; devs talk about upcoming features

Squad Development Team shared some news on the standalone version of The Project Reality mode. Squad is going to move onto Steam this month, which will result in more frequent updates.

The beginning of November brought about some fresh news on Squad, a standalone tactical online shooter that evolved from a Battlefield 2 mod. In the latest monthly recap the studio behind the game announced that Squad will migrate onto Steam this month. As a result, future updates should be more regular and will be installed automatically. As for upcoming features, the developers are wrapping up the groundwork for vehicle movement – when ready, implementing new ones will be much easier and faster.

The Project Reality map Fool’s Road is coming to Squad with a facelift.

Other than that fans can soon expect to see more emplaced weapons, Russian and Militia Forces, explosive traps, richer environments, etc. Last, but not least, the creators presented four new maps: Fools Road (an updated map from The Project Reality mod), Chora Green Zone (4km x 4 km), Sumari Bala (focused on close-quarters combat), and Training Range (designed for training solo).

You can find more details on these new features at this address. Playable alpha build of Squad is being sold on the game’s official website.
