Disney caused quite a stir about the release date of Star Wars: Outlaws, although the company, along with Ubisoft, quickly corrected the new information as an „error.”.

For a short time it seemed that we knew the release date of at least one new Star Wars game. However, according to Ubisoft, Disney's entry regarding the release of Star Wars: Outlaws has diverged from the truth.

According to the latest information from the French publisher, the new work of Massive Entertainment is expected to be released in 2024. The developers still have not confirmed the exact or even a more approximate date. However, the latter was spotted in a New Year's message posted on Disney Parks' official blog (a division of the movie giant dealing with, true to its name, theme parks). In it it was reported that Outlaws was scheduled to hit the market "later in 2024."

The past tense in the preceding sentence is indicative, as the information disappeared from the entry. Of course, not fast enought for Internet users; original version was recorded for posterity (via Wario64 / X/Twitter). In turn, PC Gamer has learned from Ubisoft that the current release date of Star Wars: Outlaws remained unchanged, and that the one provided by Disney in the first version of the entry was a "mistake."

It is worth recalling at this point that in October the French publisher made changes to the release schedule. This included postponing the debut of a "big game" to the next fiscal year, i.e. the period from April 2024 to March 2025. Some people speculated that it might be about Outlaws, although it didn't matter much, since Ubisoft didn't give an exact release date for this anticipated game.

At least we know that the title is due this year, which is more than can be said about another Star Wars game.
