The recent, major patch for Geometry Dash introduced a bucketload of new content. Remembering that the game’s main platform is mobile devices, it spiked in popularity on PC, too. The title offers progress sync between those (which does not always work as intended) so fans can enjoy it at home and on the go. And there are a lot of new things to explore. In fact, there’s so much of it that one can get lost in what’s going on. One of the most notable trends is revolving around lobotomy. By any means, it’s not related to a medical term. So, what is it all about? Let’s find out.

What is lobotomy in GD

Geometry Dash with its recent 2.2 patch broke a bank. Not only is it a content rich expansion but also a free one, which is rare nowadays. With so much of new additions to the game, some of the fans went crazy and started building, so called, lobotomy levels. Why such a weird name? Most probably it comes down to its memic theme, and often overused, “Fire in the hole” sound (but not only this), which we already covered here.

In those levels, their creators have thrown in the new, wild stuff mixing it with aforementioned sound effect. Additionally, lobotomy levels in GD often include difficulty emojis in different ways, even the player character can be one of them. They can feature several songs playing at once, changing their pace. The gameplay speed can also be changed erratically. They do whatever it takes to make sure that chaos ensues.

Main target of lobotomy levels is to be as memeful as possible. They are made with humour, chaos, and fun in mind. If you are cool with this kind of comedy, it is worth giving it a try. Maybe you will create your own mad level that will shock the community? Good luck!
