Stardew Valley Breaks New Activity Records With Patch 1.5

Patch 1.5 brought a new renaissance in Stardew Valley. Yesterday the game set a new activity record on Steam.

The agricultural RPG Stardew Valley set a new activity record on Steam. Last night 93,466 users played the game at the same time. This is an impressive feat given that the game will celebrate its fifth birthday next month.

Despite its age, Stardew Valley remained popular, but the current renaissance is due to the release of patch 1.5, the biggest update to date. Prior to the release of the patch, the all-time best activity record was 64,427 players, set shortly after the game's debut in 2016.

Patch 1.5 was released on December 21. In the weeks leading up to its release, about 15-20,000 players played Stardew Valley on Steam every day at the hottest moments. These results started to grow quickly after the release of the update. As early as December 25, a new record (64,437 players) was set, which was then beaten repeatedly for the next few days.

Let's recall that patch 1.5 is currently available only on PC. Work on console versions is in progress, but we will have to wait for these releases. The update introduced, among others, a new region and local co-op mode on split screen. Farm management and house modifications have been improved and a menu of advanced options has been added, enabling us to configure many elements of the world. In addition, a lot of new animals, enemies, adventures, plants and objects have been implemented.

Judging by the new activity records, the update has been warmly received by fans. This can also be seen in player ratings on Steam - 98% of those from the last 30 days are positive.
