Todd Howard gave an interview, in which he described Starfield as „a meeting of NASA, Indiana Jones and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”. At the same time he stressed that the production is to resemble Skyrim in terms of design. We also found out that Inon Zur is responsible for writing the music.
During yesterday's Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Starfield, the space RPG from Bethesda, was presented. In addition, the studio's chief executive producer, Todd Howard, gave an interview to The Telegraph in which he discussed topics related to the title (via Eurogamer). Thanks to this, the game, which so far remained a mystery, slowly reveals its cards to us.
Howard stated during the interview that Starfield is like "NASA, Indiana Jones and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". The game world is to be filled with all sorts of stories that we'll be able to explore. According to the dev, the whole thing will have a structure similar to another Bethesda hit, Skyrim.
Additionally, on Bethesda's YouTube channel, a short video titled Into the Starfield: The Journey Begins, coinciding with Howard's words, has appeared. We learn from it that during the adventure we'll play as a member of a faction of space explorers known as Constellation. The whole thing will be constructed in such a way that everyone can do what they want. At the same time, the devs want us to think about humanity's mysteries during the adventure. You can watch the footage below.
By the way, we also got to know the composer, who takes prepared music for Starfield. It is Inon Zur, who has cooperated with Bethesda many times before. His works can be heard, e.g. in games from the Fallout series.
Starfield is supposed to launch on November 11, 2022. The same day is also the eleventh birthday of Skyrim which, looking at Howard's words, has a symbolic meaning. The game will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
