Any moment now we will see the debut of Starfield, Bethesda's next big RPG. You can already start preparing for the game by downloading the necessary files.

  1. Pre-loads have launched on Steam. The game requires 116.21 GB of free disk space, so there's plenty to download.
  2. If you don't see this option in your Steam client, you'll have to restart the application
  3. The game will not officially debut until September 6. The pre-load has been made available now, as from September 1 the game will be available to Premium edition owners.

Starfield is already a hit on Steam

Starfield has already achieved great success on Steam.

  1. Pre-orders for Starfield have reach the best-selling spot on Steam's offerings, ending the multi-week domination of Baldur's Gate 3.
  2. According to estimates of PlayTracker Starfield has already been pre-ordered by more than 365,000 people on Steam.

None of this should surprise anyone. Everyone expects that Starfield will turn out to be one of the biggest and most succesful games of the year, if not the biggest. Bethesda's previous two single player games, namely Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim were hugely successful and continue to achieve notable activity scores on Steam (especially Skyrim), which can be envied by most new games.

Finally, let us remind you that Starfield is heading for PC, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. The title will also be available via Game Pass subscription on both PC and Xbox consoles.
