The developers of survival hit Enshrouded have listened to the voices of players and announced that they are working on changes to the quest progression system, which has proved highly controversial among the game's fans.
UPDATE #2
Patch #1 made some players unable to start Enshrouded. Apparently, they have to wait until Keen Games studio releases a hotfix that will eliminate this problem.
UPDATE #1
Keen Games released the first "big" patch for Enshrouded today. The patch fixes some errors, improves the game's performance, and also reworks the user interface. First and foremost, as part of the update, the task reset time limit was reduced (to 30 minutes). You can familiarize yourself with the full list of changes here.
Enshrouded, a new game by Keen Games combining elements of survival and action RPG, turned out to be one of January's biggest hits. The production was received very warmly, but as befits an early access title, some of its elements leave a lot to be desired. Now the authors have announced that they are working on improving the feature that players complain about most often.
That problem is the quest progression system, shared by all players on the server. When one person completes a quest, it is marked as complete to all participants of the game on that server, even if they were not logged in at that moment. Such an approach did not appeal to many players, so the authors intend to change it. It is not yet known exactly what form this system will take, but the creators promise a few things:
Unfortunately, it is not known exactly when these new solutions will be implemented. The authors only informed that work on them has already started in full swing.
At the same time, the creators explained that these controversial solutions were introduced because Enshrouded was designed as a cooperative game. Cooperative means a small team of players who play together during a joint session.
The implemented system also allows players late to the party to join (e.g. they will be able to skip tutorial missions), and also makes it so there is no obligation to complete every quest on their own. These are all good reasons, but the authors admit that not everyone liked them and therefore it was decided to offer alternative options.
Enshrouded debuted on Steam Early Access on January 24 this year. The game was warmly received - out of several dozen thousand player reviews, as many as 85% are positive.
