The Day Before Pretends to be Need for Speed in New Trailer

The Day Before is supposed to take us to a harsh post-apocalyptic world, but the new trailer is more reminiscent of Need for Speed (or I Am Legend) than The Living Dead.

After a long silence, Fnastic has reminded of its existence. Another video from The Day Before is here. Perhaps this time the devs avoided controversy and disappointment of players, and provided information about the game, which to many appears as a big scam?

Unfortunately, not this time, at least as far as the mood of the audience is concerned. The trailer published by IGN on YouTube already has about 4.2 thousand "thumbs down" with less than a thousand likes. Before we answer why the video did not spark the enthusiasm of Internet users, watch it for yourself.

It is worth adding that the trailer appeared in connection with an interview with the devs conducted by the Australian website Well Played, which published quite a few articles on The Day Before. In these they discuss, among other things, side activities (e.g., various professions, bar encounters, sauna visits), encounters with other players (which the developers are focusing on) and the release on consoles (which will follow the PC debut).

The articles could be received with moderate enthusiasm (although it is possible that they escaped the attention of most Internet users), even if we have already heard about some of this "new" information previously. However, the trailer failed to amuse the gamers for a very simple reason.

Like many previous videos , trailer doesn't really focus on the survival aspects or post-apocalypse vibes.

  1. As a reminder: The Day Before is intended as an MMO with survival elements. The whole thing is supposed to take place in a world overrun by hordes of zombies, with several groups of survivors competing for scarce resources.
  2. So what does the new trailer show? The empty city definitely fits, but Internet users are under the impression that it's more like a trailer for a racing game like Need for Speed. Especially since the music doesn't particularly fit the post-apocalypse either.
  3. Of course, the problem is also that the footage does not show any gameplay, which gamers who still believe in the project have been hoping for for a long time. The previous gameplay was made available in February, but it showed nothing concrete.

The Day Before will debut on November 10, 2023 on PCs (and later on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles). We're hope the devs keep to their word , although there's a lot of doubt (about the release year, for example). We also hope the developer will take the opportunity to present actual footage of the game at one of the many summer shows.
