The director of the game Dragon Age: The Veilguard is Corinne Busche. She previously worked at Maxis and in an interview with IGN, she talked about how her experience working on The Sims series proved useful in creating BioWare's next RPG.
As Busche explains, Maxis is a real talent forge for game designers. This is because the brand The Sims is currently available on numerous platforms and uses a variety of business models.
The Sims 4 isn't the only game that the devs of Dragon Age: The Veilguard are inspired by. A few days ago, one of the designers revealed that the solution used for conversations between team members was directly taken from State of Decay, which the developer saw for the first time there. If an event (such as a fight) interrupts the companion's speech during the game, the game will resume the conversation when things calm down again. Previous installments of Dragon Age had a different approach, causing such conversations to be lost forever.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is being developed for PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. The premiere will take place on October 31st this year.
