Resurgence Looks Like Real The Division, Only 10 Years Backwards

The recently announced Tom Clancy's The Division: Resurgence has been shown in the first gameplay. And as expected, it doesn't look very modern.

Previous week Ubisoft announced a new installment of The Division. Before any excitement could germinate, it turned out to be a F2P mobile game. The devs presented first trailer and it was already clear from it that we would have the opportunity to return to the days of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, it did not promise to be too nostalgic a trip.

Now for the first time we can take a peek at a sample of gameplay. The developers have released first footage, giving a short look at the skills of the new character classes and other elements to be found in Tom Clancy's The Division: Resurgence. You can just see that it will be another representative of a well-known series, only in an edition not very appreciated by gamers. The video in question can be found below.

Sitting behind cover and using gadgets (like turrets and drones) or agents' unique abilities is still to dominate the gameplay. On top of that, there is a constant upgrade of equipment. The developers also assure that we will be able to change classes at will during the game. They also promise emphasis on the narrative, which is to be set before the first part.

The whole thing is supposed to be accompanied by an experience similar to the one we felt when playing the "big" installments, even if the interface has been adjusted to mobile devices. However, we all know how this usually ends, especially when microtransactions are involved. It should also be taken into account that the fragment shown is from an early version of the game. So the visible drops in animation can still be eliminated.

Even if the game is impressive for a mobile title, it does not change the fact that it presents quality of graphics from a good decade ago. For the series itself, this is a significant step backward.

Ubisoft also encourages us to sign up for closed tests. You can do it here. The game is expected to debut next year on iOS and Android devices.
