Work on the set of the Harry Potter TV series started in full swing on July 14. Beginning was announced by sharing the first photo of Dominic McLaughlin in Harry's costume, which aroused a lot of interest. And no less interest will be aroused by the first unofficial photos, which were shared by the Daily Mail.

The show's crew went to the London Zoo, where they filmed a memorable scene from a family outing, during which Harry released a snake from its tether and locked his cousin behind glass. So, as you can easily guess, actors playing Harry and Dudley (Amos Kitso), as well as Vernon (Daniel Rigby) and Petunia (Bel Powley) were present on set during the filming of this scene. Fans finally got a chance to see how the Dursleys will appear in the TV show.

And looking at their reactions to the photos, it can be inferred that they are delighted with Vernon and Petunia's appearance (about which they previously had doubts), as well as the 90s vibe that their costumes capture.

One costume answered the question of what era the creators of the Harry Potter TV series choose to set the action in – Dudley's shell suit clearly points to the 1990s. And Petunia, as fans wished, exactly as in the books is a blonde, not a brunette as in the movies.

It's so aggressively 90s I love it. Petunia gives off such Karen vibes as she rightly should – TremendouslyRiddled.

The Dursleys look fantastic. Vernon’s styling especially, spot on. Can’t wait! – Bigfootsbooots.

I appreciate that it seems they’re committed to the books’ original time frame – 1-Reply.

I love how they have fully dedicated to the 90s aesthetic. The movies felt more like the times they were made; the cars were even models from 00s which made no sense as the first book is 1991. Gives me hope that they are gonna be really keen for attention to detail – TrollChef.

Harry Potter TV series will be released on HBO and HBO Max in 2027.
