The Sims 4 With Major Changes; NPCs Will Get Their Own Stories

During the Inside Maxis broadcast, the developers of The Sims 4 announced their intention to refresh the game instead of introducing new content to it in the near future. „Pack Refresh” will include, among other things, one of the existing add-ons.

During the broadcast hosted by Ashton and SimGuruGeorge, we learned that the developers at Maxis Studios have plans to refresh the content of already available expansion packs for The Sims 4 - so called Pack Refresh. The players guess that the first one in line might be Spa Day. Ashton's words indicate this, her statement being as follows:

"For now our road map continues to focus on improving content that’s in the game. That said, stay tuned and prepare your Sims for a relaxing refresh of our existing game packs coming up soon."

Another thing that points to the fact that Spa Day will be renewed, are the devs' Twitter posts.

Additionally Pack Refresh is expected to cover all sims from locations in-game. The changes will concern both appearance of the characters, as well as plot threads connected with them. Sims stories developed in the first three installments were expressive, but in The Sims 4 the creators sidelined them, which now turns out to be a mistake. In Ashton's own words:

"Hundreds of townies have come to life since the first The Sims game launch. A lot of love has been put into every single one of them and we acknowledge that they need unique care and attention so it’s about time for a tiny overhaul.. We are currently in the process of updating NPCs in The Sims 4 ncluding visuals as well as their lore."

So any fans of The Sims will find something for themselves in the upcoming updates. The most interesting seems to be "renovation" of sims stories as it was the most neglected element in the game so far.
