TikToker Mr. Movie (tmi_7) recently shared a compelling video about the documentary The Trail. Is it real and can you watch it on Netflix, Hulu or another streaming platform? The answer can be found in Mr. Movie's profile description, which includes an explanation that he parodies film critics. Looking through his TikTok, you can see that he has created many reviews of non-existent movies and shows.

So don't be fooled – although the video about The Trail looks professional, and the story sounds convincing, it was all made up by Mr. Movie for the sake of his TikTok, which is quite popular. It has been viewed more than 700,000 times.

Unsurprisingly, however, The Trail has attracted interest, and people have even begun to ask whether such a documentary really exists or is being made, as Mr. Movie has presented an intriguing story about the murders that allegedly took place in Starved Rock State Park. He even created a fake poster for the production, which features the trail in the park he described, as well as the title of the film.

He described the crime that The Trail would portray this way:

A few kids went down this trail and they disappeared. And when the local authorities went looking for them, they disappeared. 14 people went missing down this trail before they realized something was up and blocked it off.

As the investigation goes on, it just gets weirder and weirder. Around the perimeter of the site they found a ton of trees covered with trail cams. By the time they collected them all, they had hundreds of trail cams.

I don’t want to give too much away, but they used the footage from the trail cams to totally open up the investigation. There’s conspiracies, people turning their back on each other, and the use of certain technologies that don’t seem like they’re from this world.

However, as already mentioned, it was all made up by Mr. Movie. So don't wait for the release of The Trail and look for it on Netflix, Max, Disney+, Hulu or Paramount+, because the movie doesn't exist.

However true crime fans will be interested to know that there is a production focusing on a story that takes place in Starved Rock State Park. It’s about the murder of three women that happened in 1960. If you want to learn more about this story, watch The Murders at Starved Rock.
