Some players may be surprised, but there is multiplayer in Titan Quest 2. However, this feature is not advertised. There is a reason for that.
So, the sudden Early Access release of Titan Quest 2 was a surprise for many. However, we had a chance to test a game already, feel free to check out our opinion. Thousands of players decided to give this game a chance. Many of them are asking about multiplayer. As of now, the game is only single player, so you can’t play with friends… it is not the whole truth, though. There is coop. However, developers do not promote it. They have good reasons to do that… or to not do that.
The official stand is that the multiplayer will be ready later, not at TQ2 Early Access launch. That is true, we can also read it on the official Discord server, on the Gamescom Information channel.
Info: Multiplayer is planned, not on Early Access though - only for the full release.
Follow-up: The game will feature multiplayer, but not on initial Early Access release.
We cannot argue with the official channel, right? At the same time, the same Discord features a channel called “tq2-lfg-mp” where tq2 obviously stands for Titan Quest 2, lfg for “looking for group” and mp – multiplayer. Why create such a channel without working coop? The answer is simple, it does work… at least a little bit.
On the official Titan Quest 2 Steam forum, there is a subforum with only 2 threads (at the moment of writing this article). There we can read an interesting post from developers. They explain that the feature is in a very early stage, and we should not expect a polish product. It is not advertised because it is far from being ready, but you can play it at your own risk.
Some basic information:
If you decide to give this feature a chance, remember that it is not endorsed right now, However, if you are brave enough, developers ask for feedback and filling in the survey.
