We learned the release date of Trepang2, a brutal FPS set in the future. The game is sure to interest fans of the F.E.A.R. series.
If you like the combination of brutal FPS combat with horror elements, famously implemented in the F.E.A.R. series, then the upcoming Trepang2 may be something just up your alley. The game's official channel on YouTube posted a video revealing the game's exact release date on PC - June 21, this year. Thanks to the footage, which lasts less than two minutes (available below), you will see how Trepang2 looks in the atmosphere and enemy killing departaments.
Also, the plot of Trepang studio's debut title, set in the distant future, immediately brings to mind the one in the aforementioned F.E.A.R. We take on the role of a soldier who can use supernatural powers - such as slowing down time, invisibility or dodging bullets. The protagonist with superhuman strength and speed has lost his memories, but this will not stop him from finding revenge.
The spectacular disposal of enemies - in clouds of smoke, blood, sparks and glass - is another common theme of Trepang2 and games from Monolith Productions. Moreover, as the developers of the spiritual successor to F.E.A.R. emphasize, horror elements play an important role in the artistic vision of the game - which can be seen, for example, in the dark locations or the disturbing posters you'll see below.
If this old-school FPS has sparked your interest, then you can try out its free demo, which is available on Steam. It is worth mentioning at the same time that Trepang2 is scheduled to be released exclusively on Valve's platform on June 21.
