TV Prequel of The Batman as Noir; New Info About HBO's Project

We learned more about the HBO Max series that will talk about the events taking place a year before The Batman. It is supposed to be a heavy noir crime story, telling of a corrupt policeman.

The series will not be a direct adaptation of Gotham Central, but many fans are counting on the producers to draw in spades from this classic.

There is a lot of new information about HBO Max's TV series about Gotham's law enforcement, which will be set in the same universe as The Batman.

During the virtual edition of the DC FanDome event it was revealed that this film will show the second year of the Dark Knight's activities. The TV series will be set in the first year of Batman's career. However, it will not be a traditional prequel, as the main character is to be a corrupt cop who still has some good left in him. The project is described as a dark crime story that will show the struggle to save the soul of this policeman.

At the start of the series, the police in Gotham have been completely corrupt for many years. At the same time, there are more and more reports of a masked avenger trying to bring order to the city.

Let us recall that the producer of the series will be Matt Reeves, the director and screenwriter of The Batman. The role of showrunner will be played by Terence Winter, the father of HBO's Boardwalk Empire.

HBO Max immediately ordered the entire first season, not just the pilot episode. For the time being, the premiere date has not been announced, but it will probably be after the film's debut. The Batman is scheduled for release in cinemas on October 1, 2021, although further delays are possible.
