Many fans of platform and arcade games are longing for a new Rayman games. It turns out that Davide Soliani, creative director of Ubisoft's Mario+Rabbids series would be interested in creating a new game about the friendly creature.

Soliani, who was responsible for the work on the warmly received Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope admitted in an interview for Nintendo Everything, that it would be "crazy not to take advantage" of the opportunity to create a new Rayman game - provided, of course, that such a proposal would be presented to him.

He also added that from his perspective, working on a game in the series is the "absolute best one can expect" for a developer - which is due to the freedom of creation given by the fairy tale universe.

Interestingly, the creator has already had the opportunity to create a Rayman project. However, it was a smaller game from 2000 aimed at portable Game Boy Color consoles.

"This is the kind of game in which there are no realistic elements. And because there is no realism, everything you create in the game comes from your imagination and the imagination of the team. And so, [everything] from a chair to a table to an enemy to the environment is a form of art, is creating something from scratch. So to me as a developer, it’s the pinnacle of all the possibilities."

Given that the latest expansion for Mario+Rabbids: Sparks of Hope puts Rayman at the center of the action, a scenario in which Soliani fulfills a dream and, together with his team, creates a full-fledged game about the yellow creature is quite likely.

Let me remind you that the last big Rayman game was brilliantly received by the critics, Legends from 2013.
