Unravel 2 on its way – EA to publish Coldwood Interactive's next game

UUnravel is going to get a sequel, Game Informer got a confirmation from Electronic Arts. EA have also announced they will be the ones to publish Coldwood Interactive's next game.

Electronic Arts is happy to announce that they have extended the partnership with Coldwood Interactive, the creators of the warmly-received physics-based platformer Unravel. The US-based company will release the next game from the Swedish indie studio, which is going to be Unravel’s sequel, as reported by Game Informer. Unfortunately, we have no information about the game itself, be it named Unravel 2 or any other way. The original Unravel was released in February 2016 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

What players loved about Unravel was the game’s unique physics-based gameplay. You play as Yarny, a cute little character made of red yarn. As he’s walking forward he’s literally unraveling, using some of his body to build bridges, swing over chasms or climb obstacles. At the same time you have to be careful not to let Yarny unravel completely before reaching his destination. Unravel was also praised for its beautiful 2.5D graphics based on real-life photographs.

We are hoping that Unravel 2 will prove itself as ingenious as its predecessor, instead of simply featuring more of the same.
