Lately, we have observed a lot of interesting games entering Early Access program on Steam. However, there is one title that reached the end of this period and made it to version 1.0 – V Rising. The concurrent player number from the initial EA release (150 000) hasn’t been repeated just yet (via SteamDB), possibly partially due to steep, 75% increase in the production’s price. It has been explained by the devs that it is due to all the additional value added, which may hold true when it comes to content. However, there is still some polish to be done as many players have noticed that there is a bug related to blood drain setting while creating a realm. Let’s dive deeper.

Blood essence drain bug in V Rising explained

V Rising is doing a great job when it comes to customisability of the experience letting players choose from various options and modifiers. One of the most important ones is related to blood essence drain of your castle’s heart. Once it’s drained, it will no longer power fortress’ structures, pausing their operation. Not only this, but also your home’s defences will be deactivated leaving it completely vulnerable. Many players do not like this mechanic, so they try to have it turned off or at least mitigated as much as possible. Even though the game offers such option, it seems to be bugged and not working correctly as of now.

There are complaints of fans on Steam’s Community Forum, as well on official V Rising’s bug reports section about this problem. Changing the server settings values bears no fruit, no matter whether they are altered from in-game’s option menu or from the configuration files. Unfortunately, currently there is no workaround for this issue, so waiting for next patches appears to be the only option.

In the meantime, you can explore Vardoran in newly added areas packed with dynamic events. You will be able to battle fearsome, iconic characters like Dracula or Simon Belmont, who is a guest straight from Castlevania series. If you have troubles finding them, you can always resort to the interactive map that we have prepared just for the occasion. Good luck!
