V Rising PC

V Rising is a multiplayer survival game in which we play as a vampire. Game was developed by Stunlock Studios - Swedish team known for such projects as Bloodline Champions and Battlerite.

Plot

V Rising takes us on a journey to the fantastic, gothic world. During the game we play as a vampire, whose dream, lasting hundreds of years, came to an end. Now the protagonist tries to regain his strength and build a real empire, which will be feared by both people living in this dark land and monsters, which swarm in the wilderness, as well as other vampires.

Mechanics

In V Rising we observe the action from the top-down view. Game provides us with a vast open world. We can find there dark forests, smaller and bigger settlements and deep underground. As we play a vampire, we can afford to explore freely only at night; during the day we are doomed to hide from the sunlight and sneak in the shadows.

During the game we hunt for people who are the source of life-giving blood, plunder villages, kill bandits and face the enemy soldiers. In addition, we fight with various creatures and compete with other vampires. Battles are dynamic, and during them we have to show dexterity and reflexes (in time leading out attacks and performing dodging). We eliminate enemies with cold and distance weapons or by using various combat abilities and spells.

As we progress we develop our character, acquiring more and more powerful skills and gathering better and better equipment; we craft new equipment ourselves or acquire it in other ways (for example, by taking it from the defeated enemies). On our way we also get resources to expand our fortress. The castle serves us as a base, a place where we can store our loot and a rally point for our troops. So we have to take care not only to make it look good but also to make it as practical as possible.

We recruit soldiers from people, whom we decide to turn into vampires. We need an army both to invade strongholds belonging to other players, and to defend our own fortress. On the other hand, nothing stands in the way of making alliances with other players and together they face all kinds of dangers.

V Rising was prepared exclusively for multiplayer mode.

Technical aspects

Graphic design of V Rising is kept in a dark style, and has a decent quality.
