Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Delayed Again

The promising co-op shooter from the devs of Warhammer: Vermintide has been delayed. The bad news was delivered by the studio's director. As a consolation, you can sign up for beta testing.

The PC release of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide hs been delayed until November 30. Console versions will debut shortly thereafter, but no specific date has been announced so far.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a promising shooter in which up to four players will face waves of enemies trying to conquer the city of Tertium. Ever since the first announcement the title intrigues with its dark atmosphere and fast, brutal action.

Developers need testers and more time

The game was originally scheduled to debut back in 2021, but the release was delayed several times. The last date pointed to September 13 of this year. Unfortunately, even this release date has been pushed back, this time to November 30.. As Fatshark co-founder and CEO Martin Wahlund wrote on Twitter :

"While we have been humbled by the great feedback on the game so far, we also need more time to improve stability, performance and to mature key systems. Each is crucial to making sure we have the best possible experience for you, the players."

Apparently the developers are not entirely satisfied with the results of their work so far and even postponing the release several times was not enough to achieve the desired quality. Hopefully, two additional months will finally enable them to finish and polish the production.

If you want to check out the game before the release and, in the process, contribute to improving its quality studio Fatshark has opened signups for online testing. You can sign up via this page. All you have to do is provide an email address and then answer a few questions in the survey you will receive in a return message. The questions mainly concern such things as the platform on which you play or the specifications of your hardware, in the case of PC.

Warhammer 40,000 Darktide will be released on PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles (it will also be avaialbe as part of a Game Pass subscription).
