Wartales Launches - Excellent Tactical RPG Finally Leaves Early Access

Today will mark the official release of the full version of Wartales. The tactical RPG from independent studio Shiro Games has been present in Steam Early Access since December 1, 2021, and during that time it has won a slew of fans.

After nearly 18 months since its debut in Steam's Early Access, Wartales version 1.0 will launch today. The open-world tactical RPG revered by fans of the genre will receive a number of new features on this occasion. Judging by the positive Early Access reviews, the premiere edition has a good chance for achieving success.

Wartales - full version of tactical RPG launches today

Wartales was made available in Steam Early Access on December 1, 2021 and sold more than 400,000 copies. Nearly a year and a half later, French developer Shiro Games will finally release the full version of Wartales.

  1. Unfortunately, we do not know the exact release time of the full version (the devs did not answer the player questions).
  2. Currently on Steam you can still buy the early edition at the price of $34.99
  3. Version 1.0 will offer, among other things, improved graphics, new arenas, champions and battle maps, as well as a new region called Alazr and an increase in the level cap.

Very positive reception of the early version of Wartales

The title achieved a good reputation in Early Access. For nearly a year and a half Wartales has gained nearly 10.5 thousand reviews, of which as many as 90% (over 9.4 thousand) were positive.

"A great game for a long time investment, many gameplay options - depending on whether you want to follow or break the law, the game changes its level of difficulty."

"The game is sensational. It refreshed for me the classics of the genre, brought back memories of such titles as Baldur's Gate, in which I started my adventure with games of this type. I recommend to all lovers of classic RPGs."

The overwhelming advantage of positive reviews over negative ones does not mean, of course, that the latter are absent. Some players criticize, for example, the repetitive nature of the gameplay.

"This game lacks something. The initial mood of excitement about the new game is quickly replaced by monotony and sleepy music. It's dull as dishwater. Such a not very good time-killer. I've played dozens of better games."

Wartales - what kind of game is it?

For those who do not know what Wartales is, we hasten to remind that it is a turn-based, tactical RPG with an open world.

The plot takes us to a fictional universe, created based on medieval Europe. We are sent to the realm 100 years after the fall of the Edoran Empire.

This interestingly designed world is ruled by thieves and murderers. Our task is to assemble a party to help restore the old order. The overriding goal, however, is survival.
