Update: The game has been released in early access on PC and PlayStation (the developers finally managed to overcome the difficulties and the version for Sony consoles has not been delayed). Although ultimately it is expected to be free, at the Early Access stage it requires the purchase of a Founder's Pack. - its cheapest variant costs $10 on Steam.

As announced, new game from the creators of the successful Ruined King: A League of Legends Story should be hitting Steam and PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles today as part of early access, where it is expected to remain for six months. Unfortunately, at the last minute the debut of Wayfinder on PC has been delayed from August 15 to 17. On Sony platforms, the title will be released "as close to August 17 as possible" (via Airship Syndicate studios on Twitter).

As we read in the announcement published on the game's official website and Steam, the Airship Syndicate and Digital Extremes teams have yet to deal with recent issues to ensure a smooth early access launch. Therefore, they have decided to delay the release by two days.

In a way, fans understand that this was not an easy decision for the developers. After all, for many people, it's the first experience with the game that counts, and serious glitches in early access could permanently discourage further interaction with Wayfinder. This would be disastrous for any game, let alone a title with MMO elements (even if it allows for single-player experience).

Nevertheless, some Internet users do not hide their disappointment, especially those who reserved their time to play the game on launch day on Steam Early Access and Sony consoles. They point out that the developer could have at least notified them in advance about the possibility of Wayfinder's delay. Fans would also have preferred the developers to provide a more precise debut date for PlayStation 4 and 5.
