Why do we challenge ourselves? Mainly to prove to ourselves our own strength and determination. Some of them, however, may seem incomprehensible or even... crazy.
A few months ago, in classic WoW, a certain daredevil decided to bring the legend of Saitama from One Punch Man straight into Azeroth. Said person, OnepunchWarrior, set themself the following challenge:
Reach level 60 as a Naked SF Hardcore Warrior (no armor/rings/trinkets/weapons). I'm only allowed to use my talents, abilities, and professions of cooking and alchemy to help me. And most importantly, I'm leveling solo. Grouping is prohibited. Every Quest and NPC kill I have to do it alone.

Seven months later, our brave naked warrior is still fighting, but the battle is taking a toll on their mental stamina and pushing their patience to the limit. Even though he just hit level 55 a few days ago and the finish line seems within reach, there are still many challenges ahead of him.
Some of the toughest opponents, for example, are unexpected internet or power outages. Such disruptions cause a temporary loss of control, during which the character can die - leading to their permanent loss.
The grind seems to be an even bigger problem lately, and our challenger has been complaining about it more and more:
By now, the grind has become a bit too insane. I'm leveling all the time with rested XP buff and it's still takes me at least 12 hours of mob grinding until I get to the next level. I need over 170k total experience to reach a new level, and killing a mob gives me 240-280xp per Kill, that's a lot of NPC i have to kill.
Naturally, plenty of fans are cheering on this bizarre (and, to some, totally 'insane') challenge, following it with bated breath:
You're still going?!?! I saw you wayyyy back in Redridge and I even deleted you from my friends list for tracking, as you MUST have died or given up. Right?!
But I was wrong. I lost faith in Onepunchwarr. For that, I will spend the rest of my life with regret.
However, I can be here to say, "You got this!"
If you die now, that just might become the saddest RIP in the history of hardcore WoW.
It’s pure irony of fate - the goal is finally in sight, and yet caution is now more important than ever. One wrong step, or even a poorly-timed loss of connection, and the challenger could lose 292 hours of playtime in an instant. Will they defy fate and achieve their goal? We will find out soon.
