Fans of The Walking Dead universe have finally seen their wait come to an end. The series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live debuted on AMC on February 25th. Thanks to this production, after five years, Rick Grimes and Michonne will return to the screen together. The series will explain what happened to the characters after their departure in the ninth and tenth seasons. Viewers of the spin-off, whose first episode will deliver a lot of emotions, are probably wondering where this series was filmed. We come with the answer.

Where does The Ones Who Live take place? Filming locations

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live was filmed in two main locations – in Atlanta, Georgia, and Jersey City, New Jersey. This means that the crew had to travel from one place to another to shoot various scenes and sequences.

New Jersey is one of the leading filming locations. Filming for the series began here on February 13, 2023. Scenes were shot on Colest Street, Pavonia Street, Pavonia Avenue, 9th Street, and Monmouth Street. Many shots were taken at night, in the middle of winter. Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, talked about this in a conversation with Variety:

There’s something about a week of night shoots in the middle of winter in New Jersey that’s galvanizing.

In New Jersey, filming also took place in cities such as East Rutherford, Wayne, Holmdel, Alpine, Bayonne, and Ringwood State Park located in the heart of the Ramapo Mountains in Ringwood.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is another spin-off of The Walking Dead series. The production focuses on the original characters Rick and Michonne. They are forced to live in a post-apocalyptic reality, where zombie hordes pose the greatest threat. The series will tell how the situation has affected their relationship and what they mean to each other. The production is directed by Craig Zobel.
