In anticipation of the Oblivion remake, a fan of Bethesda games transferred the fourth installment of The Elder Scrolls series to the first Doom.
A remake of one of the most famous games in Bethesda's portfolio, the fourth installment of The Elder Scrolls series, has recently been on the lips of the community due to ongoing rumors about it. While waiting for a refreshed version of Oblivion, fans of this fantasy RPG fill their free time in quite intriguing ways.
A player by the nickname Sloth_Johnson posted a video on Reddit containing a fragment of gameplay from one of his projects. The discussed mod ports elements of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to Doom, released in 1993. The material proves that the crossover of these two well-known Bethesda games is a fun idea that could find many recipients.
A fan project, mockingly called by its creator as the official remake of the fourth TES, brings Oblivion's fantasy elements into Doom, featuring sword combat with demons. At the beginning of the video, we see a showdown with a loyal fan (one of the most iconic characters in the game even appeared in Starfield), and then a meeting with Uriel VII. The characters replace the original demon skins from the iconic shooter, all crafted by Sloth_Johnson.
Unfortunately, we shouldn't expect a full modification introducing Tamriel on Mars to be made available and downloadable, even on Nexus Mods. The project creator is only using parts of the game for their videos, and he's also hinting that using Bethesda's resources could get the mod taken down from the internet quickly.
However, such initiatives help pass the time more enjoyably until the still unconfirmed release of the supposed true remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. According to several sources, the undisclosed title is set to be released this month.
Fans of the Doom series definitely have less to complain about. After all, we know that the latest installment of the series, subtitled The Dark Ages, will be released in a month, on May 15, on PS5, XSX/S, and PC.
While on the topic of the demonic cycle, it's worth mentioning the limited collector's edition of the first and second Doom. Limited Run Games, the company behind it, proves once more that these timeless Bethesda games can be played on anything, including a limited edition game box. The sale of DOOM + DOOM II Will it Run Edition (including both productions and a nice box containing a figurine or collector's cards) will start on April 18th.
