Dark Souls Black Knights Lore - Why Is Their Armor Black, What's Their Story?

The world of Dark Souls is full of unexplained stories and myths. We explain one of them in our new video today.

Dark Souls has created its own complex mythology – a world full of tales, myths, legends, and secrets. Some of them have already been explained, while others will forever remain only as speculations of the community. We decided to focus on one of these legends. Everyone who played any part of Dark Souls should be familiar with the Black Knights. The first encounter with them almost always ends with death, because the number and aggressiveness of their attacks resembles those of a boss, rather than a regular opponent.

But who are the Black Knights in Dark Souls, and most importantly – why is their armor black? You can go through Dark Souls 10 times and still not find the answer because it is hidden deep within the game's lore. In the following video, we explain the history of the Black Knights in Dark Souls. Perhaps this will make you feel a little more... sympathy towards them.

Dark Souls was released in 2011 on PS3, X360 and PC. It was later re-released as a pretty good remaster – Dark Souls: Remastered. The game is a so-called soulslike – difficult and unforgiving games, which also don't want to easily share their secrets with us.
