Space Junkyard Game Hardspace: Shipbreaker Leaves Early Access

Hardspace: Shipbreaker, a game about scrapping spaceships, will leave Early Access today. Version 1.0 is expected to offer many new features and improvements.

Version 1.0 of Hardspace: Shipbreaker, the latest game by Blackbird Interactive, the studio known for Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, will debut in a few hours.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker launches

Hardspace: Shipbreaker spent almost two years in early access - it launched on Steam's Early Access in June 2020.

  1. The game will leave Early Access this afternoon.
  2. Currently, the game is sold on Steam for around $20.
  3. The project will also be available as part of the PC Game Pass subscription.
  4. Today's release only includes the PC edition. The developers have console ports planned, but those editions will be released at a later date.

The early version of the game met with a warm reception. On Steam, 89% of user reviews praise the title, which is categorized as a "very positive" reception.

What's new in version 1.0?

Version 1.0 is expected to offer quite a few new features, including:

  1. The third and final act of the story campaign,
  2. The ability to save your game state while disassembling your ship,
  3. Improved development mechanics, and an improved balance of economic elements,
  4. improved engine stability and performance,
  5. Steam achievements.

It is worth mentioning that with the release of version 1.0, previous gameplay progress will be erased. This is the last such reset.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker will leave Early Access today, but at the same time, another game from Blackbird Interactive will debut in the same formula - Crossfire: Legion. It's an RTS spin-off of the popular Asian brand of online shooters.
