The boycott of Disney+ and Hulu continues, with people calling for it after ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel's show from the air on September 17.
The boycott targets ABC's parent company, Disney, which has taken a hit in the wake of this situation. With the announcement of the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, internet users began encouraging others to cancel their subscriptions to Disney+ and Hulu, posting photos of their own cancellations tagged with the hashtags #CancelDisney, #CancelDisneyPlus, and #CancelHulu.
The decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel's show was made after the host commented on Charlie Kirk's death on-air.

We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.
After Nexstar Media, one of ABC's largest affiliate groups, announced on September 17 that it would not air episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, ABC pulled the show from its schedule. This came after harsh criticism from Brendan Carr, the head of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which regulates radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable services.
It appears to be some of the sickest conduct possible. […] In some quarters, there’s a very concerted effort to try to lie to the American people about the nature of one of the most significant, newsworthy, public interest acts that we’ve seen in a long time. [...]
We can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead – Carr said.
Celebrities weigh in on the controversy surrounding Jimmy Kimmel and the cancellation of Disney+
This single decision prompted thousands of supporters to call for a boycott of Disney, claiming that freedom of speech had been violated. As a result, people began canceling their subscriptions to Disney's streaming platforms, Disney+ and Hulu, to express their anger.
It's not just ordinary people who oppose ABC's decision. Prominent figures from the film industry have also spoken out on the matter. Damon Lindelof, creator of Lost, vowed not to work with Disney until Jimmy Kimmel Live! is reinstated. Tatiana Maslany, who starred in the Disney+ TV series She-Hulk, encouraged people to cancel their Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN subscriptions.
One of Disney's biggest stars, Pedro Pascal, who is involved in upcoming major productions from the Star Wars and Marvel universes, both Disney brands, has also come to Jimmy Kimmel's defense.
