In February, Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action conquered Netflix. The adaptation of the animated series was a success, being popular with viewers, who received the production well. There were some changes in the story, which some fans didn’t like, but many largely didn’t mind them while watching the adventures of Aang and his friends in the new version.

The first season included stories from the first book of the ATLA animated series, and assuming a similar amount of the story will be covered in future installments, the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender should have three seasons. Will they be created? What is known about season 2 of ATLA live-action? Netflix has announced that Avatar: The Last Airbender has been renewed for 2 more seasons, so we will get not only season 2, but also season 3. This means that the entire story from the animated series will probably be adapted. This was expected by fans, as well as the actors from the series.

Katara’s actress, Kiawentiio, in an interview with Elle, expressed hope that more seasons will be created.

I definitely hope for season 2 and season 3—I think we all really want that for this show. I am proud of what we’ve done for season 1, but I think there’s just so much to look forward to as well. In the animated series, it just gets better and better each season. So there’s a lot of scenes that I’d love to recreate and relationships that I’d love to see.

No word on when we can expect new episodes. Probably, work on season 2 has just begun, so we are quite a long time away from the premiere.
