Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory Regains Dedicated Servers Thanks to Publisher

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory has regained dedicated servers. They will be free of modifications and we will play only the original campaign on them.

Id Software announced, that Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory has regained dedicated servers. This will enable users to play the classic in an unmodified version, because as the studio itself admitted - currently multiplayer games with fan mods dominate the scene, which can spoil the nostalgic gaming experience.

The default mode on "deds" will be a standard campaign with classic rules. Competition with other players will take place on six original maps. In the game search engine they will appear as "id Software Official Vanilla Server - (Region)".

The settings of the official servers in ET:

  • default mode: campaign,
  • maximum number of players: 16 (8 on 8),
  • Punkbuster disabled,
  • alliance fire enabled,
  • enabled anti-lag,
  • maximum number of lives disabled,
  • no weapon restrictions.

id Software says it has set up servers in a number of territories and, as a result, playing ET will be comfortable due to low ping:

  • United States: Texas,
  • European Union: Netherlands,
  • Australia: Canberra,
  • United Kingdom: London.
