To build a hive in Valheim, you don't just need a hammer and some wood - the most important thing is a queen bee. You'll find queen bees in hives in the wilderness – they are usually found near abandoned buildings.

Standing close to the hive will enrage the bees – they will start attacking your character. After destroying the hive, collect items from the ground - among them, you may find a queen bee, but there is no 100% chance of that.

If you find a wild beehive in a wooden building, you can build a workbench under the roof and destroy the walls of the structure with a hammer (by clicking MMB on the different parts) - the beehive will fall down and be destroyed instantly. You can also get some extra wood.

After finding the queen bee, equip your character with a hammer and then go to the Crafting tab - you'll find a new building, the Beehive, which you can place near the Workbench.

Note! Hives, like Workbenches, can attract aggressive creatures from the area. If you are constantly plagued by attacks, consider surrounding your beehive with walls.
