Valheim: Stagbreaker - how to unlock?

On this page of the Valheim guide, you will learn how to unlock the two-handed Stagebreaker hammer, an extremely useful and very powerful weapon.

In Valheim, you can fight with a variety of weapons such as spear, knife, and bow, but none of them have as much momentum as the two-handed hammer Stagbreaker. This powerful tool not only deals area-of-effect damage but also knocks targets back, which is extremely useful when fighting in a small space. Stagbreaker is perfect for exploring Burial Chambers.

To unlock the Stagbreaker, you will need to go to the Dark Forest area and get Core wood – one of the different types of wood available in Valheim. You can get Core wood by cutting down a pine. After obtaining this resource, your character will immediately unlock access to the Stagbreaker schematic.

To create the Stagbreaker, you must have at least a level 2 workbench. For information on how to upgrade your workbench, see the separate page of our guide. Also, to create this weapon you will need:

1. 20 pieces of Core wood;
2. 5 Deer trophies;
3. 2 Leather scraps.
