Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: How to get a good bow right away?
The first bow from the game Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is weak. In our tutorial, we suggest how to obtain the weapon design Venomous long bow of Kitanga and what are the requirements to create a better bow.
After initiating the story of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, you may want to replace the starting bow with something more suitable and powerful. On this page of our guide, we show a possible choice for this - Kitangi's Venomous Longbow - and how to get the design for it and how to craft it successfully.
First obtained bow
- The first longbow is obtained very early in the game - during Pandora introduction quest.
- As part of the mission, you must reach a Fueling Station where So'lek is found. During the conversation, you'll receive the bow, which is the hero's first and basic weapon.
How to unlock Kitangi's Venomous Longbow?
- The starting bow has low stopping power and upgrades don't improve it much, so it is better to get a completely new bow. The bow we are talking about is Kitangi's Venomous Longbow which can be obtained in the initial hours of the game.
- Continue the story until you reach the Hometree during The Aranahe Clan main mission. When you get back to your character and begin a new Eywa's Blessing mission, you can use the break between missions to look around the area for an Aranahe NPC - Kitangi.
- Talk to him and go to Designs tab. In this menu, you can pick up a design for Kitangi's Venomous Longbow free of charge.
- Now, approach any Crafting Table and proceed to the bow screen.
- To craft this bow, you only need any ingredients from Bast and Branches category. If you have explored the world between the missions and gathered plant materials, you should already have what is needed. Otherwise, go on an excursion into the areas around the Hometree. You can additionally turn on the option that helps with finding specific crafting materials.
- Kitangi's Venomous Longbow, aside from better base damage, can shoot poisonous arrows. A living opponents struck by such an arrow will slowly lose his health points.
Kitangi's Heavy Bow
- You get your first heavy bow during the Eywa's Blessing main quest.
- During one of your next visits to the Hometree, meet with Kitangi again. This time, you will get a free weapon design - Kitangi's Heavy Bow.
- Kitangi's Heavy Bow can fire piercing arrows. Just like a long bow, you need to have the required ingredients to make it at a crafting table.
On a separate page How to get materials for a Heavy Bow? we suggest where to look for the components needed to construct this weapon.
Best bow
- There is not one bow that would clearly dominate over the rest. In general, you should aim to have and craft bows with the highest base stats. We recommend focusing here on the heavy bows, which are the strongest among the 3 bow types.
- The example bow we recommend is the Solali's heavy bow, which, in addition to regular arrows, also uses poisoned arrows. The design of the bow is provided by Solali from the Na'vi camp called The Circle in the Upper Plains region.
- The base damage dealt by Solali's bow is around 70 points, but you can look for higher quality crafting materials and use them to build a better model of the same bow.
- Additionally, remember that you can and should improve each bow by installing mods. You can find them as loot or receive them from traders, and the numerous modifications to the heavy bow are available from the aforementioned NPC Solali. We recommend looking for upgrades that increase damage for hitting weak points.
