Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: How to get crafting materials for a Heavy Bow?

If you decide to craft a new Heavy Bow in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, you may encounter a problem of crafting materials being hard to come by. On this page of our guide, we show where to look for Bast and Roots (exemplary - Canopy Root) category of materials.

List of ingredients for a Heavy Bow

1. After unlocking Heavy Bows as equipable weapons thanks to progress in the main story, you may want to replace the initial bow with a better one. Among the possible choices, there is Kitangi's Heavy Bow and how to unlock the blueprint for it we have described on the How to get a good bow right away? page.
2. At the workbench, you can learn that to craft this bow, you need Root of any category and any Bast.

Where to find Canopy Root?

1. There are different types of Roots, but any of them will do. One of the roots that can be found in initial areas is Canopy Root. For the purpose of obtaining Canopy Root of highest rarity, gather them during daylight hours.

1. Best area to look for common roots is the border of The Threaded River and Cocoon Hills regions. This is east of Gas Collector Charlie and not far from the location of the Tarsyu Flower unlocking Eject Ancestor Skill.

1. Rare Roots are easily found west from Tangled Lake in Kinglor Forest. This is south-east from Woodsprite Arches. We marked a perfect acquisition area in screenshot 1.

1. In both cases, look for Roots high in tree crowns, not close to the ground. Canvass the area with Na'vi Senses activated and after locating a Root, climb the related tree.
2. Each time you'll have to complete the gathering mini-game. Try to pull the root in different directions until it stops resisting.

How to obtain Bast?

Bast category includes:

1. Sol's Delight in Kinglor Forest - shown in the screenshot. It is a common plant found in the Wild Vines biome in Kinglor Forest (you can activate the biome overlay in the map screen).

1. Forest Seaweed - shown in the screenshot. This is also a common ingredient found in shallow water areas in the Kinglor Forest.
