On trade portals speculation is ongoing, what is (or basically what will be) a mysterious new card in the GFXBEnch database. It turns out that the benchmark software sees the GPU of this model under the name GeForce RTX 2080.

GTX 1180 is based on Turing architecture?

This may suggest, contrary to earlier speculation, that the card will be based on the Turing architecture and not on improved Pascal (the architecture used in the GTX 1080 card). Tests currently available in the GFXBench database have been done on Linux, but the results suggest that we are dealing with a card with a performance similar to that of RTX 2080.

So where is the catch and why they release the same card under a different name? Most likely, the GTX 1180 will have no cores to handle the ray tracing technology that Nvidia has been promoting recently. At present, however, this is speculation, and the company has not yet taken a statement on this issue.

If the rumors turn out to be true, we can only wait for information about the price of the new GTX. Then we will be able to say more about the fairness of parallel sales of RTX and GTX card series.
