Signalis harkens back to survival horror classics, such as the first three installments of the cult-classic Resident Evil. But not only that. Fans of Silent Hill, the works of David Cronenberg, David Lynch and Yoko Taro will also find something of interest. There's also a pinch of Hideaki Anno and Neon Genesis Evangelion for dessert. A real feast for fans of the twisted and wonderful works of exceptional artists.
This game should resonate with anyone, who enjoys movies, shows and games like these. There is a lot of exploration, puzzle solving and fighting against nightmarish enemies. You also have to be careful not to run out of supplies too quickly. As befits a survival horror, it's quite difficult to obtain ammunition and first aid. When it comes to the visual setting, it's intended to bring to mind games from the 90s, which is evident at first glance. One of the most interesting indie games this year for sure.
